The usual workaround is a second product called "Leather satchel (refurbished)". That splits your stock across two items, splits the reviews, splits the reporting, and puts the two listings in competition with each other in search results.
Refurb keeps the graded unit on the original product, so none of that happens.
Pick a condition. The price and the description change on the same product, not on a duplicate listing.
